Fauna
There are so many of different types of species of animals that live in Mangrove Forests. Studies have identified around 36 species of crustaceans, 31 species of mollusks, and 128 different species of birds just in the North American Mangroves alone.
The Mangrove Forests provide a great habitat both above and below the water. The roots are a great place for fish and other animals to find shelter beneath the surface while above the water they are ideal for the long-legged birds to walk upon and hunt. The tree branches themselves are great for nesting for birds, and living for mammals.
